Stock Stats is developed and operated by Viacheslav Mukha, an individual developer. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your data. It is deliberately short, because the app does very little with it.
No accounts, no sign-in
Stock Stats does not ask you to create an account or sign in. We hold no database of users, and we do not run analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking software of any kind inside the app. The only personal data touched anywhere in the service is the technical data described under Market data below — we collect nothing else about you.
Your portfolio data stays on your device
Portfolios, transactions, and holdings you enter or import are stored locally on your device. Nothing about your holdings is sent to us as part of normal use of the app.
Optional iCloud backup
If you turn on iCloud backup, the app writes encrypted-in-transit snapshots of your data to your own private iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit private database. That storage counts against your own iCloud quota and is under your control, not ours — we cannot read it. You can restore from a backup, delete a backup, or turn backup off at any time; turning it off stops future uploads. If you export your data manually (CSV or JSON), that file is saved wherever you choose on your device or in your own cloud storage, and we never see it.
Market data
Quotes, price history, and foreign-exchange rates are fetched through a proxy server that we operate on Cloudflare Workers. A request to that proxy contains only what's needed to answer it — ticker symbols, date ranges, currency pairs, search text, and the app version — never your name, an account identifier, portfolio contents, or dollar amounts. As with any web server, Cloudflare processes your device's IP address to serve the request and to guard against abuse and excessive load, and short-lived operational logs may exist for that purpose (standard Cloudflare Workers logging). The upstream market-data providers we call on the server side — Tiingo, Finnhub, Frankfurter, and Yahoo Finance — are contacted by our server, not your device, so they never receive your device's IP address or any identifier tied to you.
Interactive Brokers sync (optional)
If you connect Interactive Brokers Flex Web Service sync, your read-only reporting token — it cannot place trades or move money — is stored in your device's Keychain. Statements are fetched directly from Interactive Brokers to your device; they never pass through our servers. Disconnecting the sync deletes the stored token from your device.
Purchases
Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We never see your payment details. Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction.
Face ID / Touch ID
App Lock uses Face ID or Touch ID, evaluated entirely on your device by iOS. No biometric data is ever accessible to Stock Stats or to us.
Widgets
Home-screen and lock-screen widgets show a snapshot of your data, stored on-device in a shared app container so the widget can read it. This never leaves your device.
If you email us
If you write to our support address, we receive the email address and message content you send, and use them only to respond to you.
How long we keep things, and your rights
There is no user database to hold anything in: your portfolio never reaches us, so there is nothing for us to retain, sell, or share. The operational logs behind the market-data proxy are short-lived and kept only to run the service and guard it against abuse. Email you send to support is kept only as long as needed to answer you and for a reasonable record of the exchange.
Where the law gives you rights over personal data — including under the EU and UK GDPR — you may ask us for access to it, its correction or erasure, a copy of it, or a restriction on or objection to its processing, and you may complain to your local data-protection authority. Write to support@stockstats.pro. In practice the only data we could act on is your email correspondence and the short-lived proxy logs, because nothing else about you reaches us. We do not sell or share personal data, and we never have.
The market-data proxy runs on Cloudflare's global network, so a request from your device may be handled by a server outside your own country. It carries no identifier tied to you.
Children
Stock Stats is not directed at children under 13.
